ENGINEERED DESIGN

Vehicle Components prides itself on its engineering heritage, and the importance of engineered design.Products are designed using the latest 3D Computer Aided Design technology. Designs are evaluated using Finite Element Analysis. Prototype parts are then manufactured and tested in various static test rigs before being fitted to test vehicles for performance testing.

LEAN MANUFACTURING

The Company’s Lean Manufacturing systems are used as an example by Queensland Manufacturing Institute (QMI). Vehicle Components has set record breaking scores of any Queensland manufacturing company in the International World Class Benchmarking Audit.

PRODUCT TESTING

In order to ensure our products do the job and to provide feedback for the next generation of products, Vehicle Components carries out extensive testing in the field. Products are tested over long distances, and under all types of road conditions to check for strength and performance in the harsh Australian outback.

Our comprehensive testing regime includes fitting custom built test trailer vehicles with Mo-Tec data logging equipment. This records what is happening to the suspension or coupling over different surface conditions in real time. Information such as shock absorber temperature, suspension position, vehicle speed and G forces on the trailer is stored for later analysis.

REMOTE AREA TESTING (RAT Run)

We perform one major trip each year to put our product through its paces in real and remote conditions ensuring that all components will perform above expectation.
